Critique Required Apple Leaf.

A few weeks ago I was bored and tried a couple of leaf shots. I struggled to get anything remotely interesting so they all got deleted except this one which I had a play with.

RAW file processed in Photoshop's raw thing (ACR???) with a bit of split toning then tweaked in CS3 till I was somewhere near happy with it:o.

I like that Glen

... think you might need to clean your sensor though ... ;)

I never noticed that Hamish:o.
Don't trust myself to do a sensor clean so I'll have to look a bit more carefully next time and use the clone tool in CS3;).

love that processing you achieved Glen really makes a different look to that simple leaf

as for sensor cleaning, i bought some opteka swabs that are correct size for sensor and they worked a treat only cheap to from amazon. I was scared but nowt to be scared off, i have done it a few times and has always got rid of dust bunnies so far.

Wow - love the detail and the PP, and also the OOF backdrop

This is a super strong graphic image - would make a good art print I reckon

Im with Darren! face that fear head on! :)
I use (and wouldnt touch anything else) "visible dust" swabs!

... its old school forum in this thread! ;)

Hamish do these visible dust swabs already have some sort of cleaning agent on them IE ready to use straight from packet ??

These optaeka ones i bought are individual sealed and are just about ever so lightly damp if that's the right word lol

You usually need so fluid also with the Visible Dust ones. One drop of the appropriate one. The thing I like about the Visible Dust ones is the different sizes and also their smear removal fluid.

Nice shot Glen (even with the spots ;) - what was that line in the Joni Mitchell song?!) and I like the toning.
