I love the close up - that's one amazing mural - the streaking works really well in B&W

I think in #3 you have all the elements - a more 'urban' feel with the man's clothing, he;s looking at the mural and you've caught him as he's about to pass it but not yet blocking it from view.

Venice beach is an odd place - ritzy then gritty then downright scary! :D

Thanks a lot, Chris.

Yeah there are some real weirdos up there at Venice Beach. Then again,...they probably said the same thing about me. :D

Liking a photo of a peice of artwork is just liking the artwork .., not the photo
I always struggle with photos just of someone else's art

That's why I like number 3 ... It's a photo of a reaction/interaction (both Brians and the strnger in the image) and a moment in time caught ... That way it's the benefit of the artwork but also the benefit of our art form in one!

I guess this is pretty obvious stuff, just thought if mention it :)

Point taken, Hamish. I don't normally take pictures of art. But I like pictures of people looking at art. In the series above I wanted to give context to the images and I thought the first picture might be a way to emulate through the photograph a reaction similar to what one might experience on the scene; a little bit of surprise and maybe even a modicum of shock. The second image was to show the piece in situ, and the remaining shots I intended to show the reactions of passers-by.

Thanks for your comments, Hamish.
