Thats a 1958 large vf version
mine is a 1954 small vf version
there are quite a few variations

very nice! are you pleased with it now you have it?
does it work ok?

B&W or colour?
Thanks Pete. It will be colour.
I have picked up a Nikon F75 for black an white.
I intend using the light meter in the F75 to help with the Vito as an insurance until I master "estimating" without a light meter.

Cheers, Chris. I only saw the green tint after posting.

Hamish, I am delighted with it. There are no visible scratches and it works at all shutter speeds.
The focus is smooth and silent.
I have not tested the timer.
I intend documenting all settings for each shot in order master the exposure.
One problem is that I loaded it with Fujicolor Superia ASA 200.
However, the camera has ASA of 300, 125, 60, ..
I paid £52 for it as it was listed as mint which it is.
Was this a good price?

The asa setting on the camera is just there to remind you what you loaded and has no barring at all on the outcome of the photos.
I've found the listing that you won on eBay ... I'd say that's at the top end of what price I'd pay... But...
It's a 2.8 skopar though which are a little harder to come by - in fact I was not even aware there was a 2.8 large vf version ... So all in all I suspect it's probably a fair price, especially concidering condition!
I'd leave the timer alone ... They can get jammed!
And yeah, documenting settings is a great idea!

I did wonder ... I thought you may have misread it ... The dial top left is for remembering the asa/iso of the film you put in

I assume you are talking about the fact that you want to use the sunny 16 rule ...
I wouldn't worry to much if you set it to 125 or 300 with 200iso film you will get very slightly over or underexposed photos ... But honestly it's such a little difference you will likely not be able to tell with print film!

If you want to see the difference it makes, take a couple of shots of the same scene on the two different speeds and tell the people in shop that you get the film printed to not make any adjustments to your images!

Thanks Hamish - that is a relief. Good idea about the "not make any adjustments".
I intend getting them processed at Photo Imaging and copied to CD before printing.
I must admit it's a large culture shock to be shooting without even a meter or "focus area".
Managed to take 4 shoots with the lens cap on!. Taking notes about the settings was time consuming especially when there is
no camera strap.

I'd Just leave the lens cap at home ;)
I found it was that "culture shock" that kicked me into gear, it was like looking at the whole skill of photography from a completely different angle ... quite refreshing i found!
You know where we are if you need any help with anything ... dont be afraid to ask any question even if you think it might be a silly one! we have all been there .. in fact many here havent got as far as going through the process you are currently going through...
