I would have chosen another forum category, such as "Abstract....." Both shots are excellent, but I like the first one better because of the geometry and because the stairs in the upper left corner add an unresolved story.

You wouldn't know from the images that they are next door to each other, so there is a relationship which could be brought out in another context. I'm not sure I see them as abstract. To me they are very complete meditations on Edinburgh New Town architecture: shadows, light, and mystery. I agree with you that the better shot is the bench, and those stairs do lift it. Glad you like them, Gianluca!
