a decent article on using the tone curve to achieve different tonal results in lightroom 4. i'm not crazy about how they convert to b&w using the b&w button, but it does have a lot of screen shots of the tone curves and affects it has on the image.

Why in these things do people use lens vignette when there is a post crop vignette with a stack more variables?
ive seen it a few times now ... What am I missing?

the lens vignette is used to fix lens vignettes, not add them. not sure why he used it in this particular circumstance. i would have used the post crop vignette or the grad filter tool.
