Blogs on this site

I was wondering why KK was the only person round here with a blog, so I started one yesterday, but so far no one has viewed it, presumably because blogs don't appear in the daily posts. Either that or no one is interested! LOL. I'm a big boy, I can take it:D

Anyway, here it is: http://www.realphotographersforum.com/blogs/rob-mackillop/144-beginners-blog.html

So, am I right in saying blogs don't appear in the forum section?

Overexposing print film is not a problem, unlike digital. I've done a trial on a particular photo years ago, using print film and gave an exposure range of 5 stops in five shots. All printed fine. The middle one was "correctly" exposed. Slide film is like digital. You cannot overexpose it or you'll ruin the picture. If you underexpose it, you can't print it or show it, BUT you can "rescue" it digitally.

The way I see blogs coming into thier own on this site is as a way to collate your own forum posts within subjects
If you have a look at my blog, down the right hand side you will see a camera collection category
When ever I post a write up on a camera in the forum I blog it and categorise it as such
Have a read of this

In your case, it's quite a nice idea to have a blog as a beginner, but more useful to you to have the responses you will get in the forum ... So doing as described will give you best of both works and give future members a place to see all of the posts you write on the subject in one place!

When people click "what's new" there is a new blogs sub heading, but it is rarely used as far as I know...

Ah, OK. I've got in the habit of just clicking the number box at the very top of the site, between the Settings and Notifications icons, which just gives a link to the latest Forum posts. I'll go for What's New instead. But I agree that the Forum might have been a better place for my post.

Cheers,

Rob
