Canon CPN - Portraits

The next category in the Editor's Choice 2 series is portrait photography. Marcel Saba, founder of Redux Pictures, will be judging your pictures uploaded in December.

From 1 December 2010 to 5 January 2011 you will be able to upload your portrait images to the CPN site. Saba will then choose a shortlist of images, giving feedback on his favourite ones in a multimedia presentation to be published on the CPN site in January.

Linking CPN readers to the world's best photo editors, CPN Editor's Choice allows your Canon photography to be seen at the highest level and gives photo editors a chance to discover new talent from around the world.

Marcel Saba began his career with Gamma Liaison Agency, working his way up to Senior International Representative. Seven years later he became the Director of Picture Group Photo Agency. In 1989 he formed his own agency, SABA Press Photos, selling it 11 years later to Corbis and joining the company as Vice President for Editorial Photography. He resigned from his position at Corbis in February 2002. In the summer of 2003 Saba founded Redux Pictures. Redux was "his answer to the 'mega-agencies' that now dominate much of the market".

Saba has also helped produce and edit several books including Witness Iraq, Sarajevo, Christmas Around The World, and Acts of Charity. He has judged competitions such as The Overseas Press Club and Pictures of the Year. He has participated in workshops such as Photo Fusion, The Atlanta Seminar and World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass. He is currently on the faculty of the International Center of Photography (ICP) as well the board of the W. Eugene Smith Foundation.
