Critique Welcomed Cars & Coffee

The X-T1 got a good workout this morning at a California classic - A Coffee & Cars meet.

The new tilting LCD really came into it's own, allowing for low camera angles with easy screen viewing for composition. This is a real step up for the X Series.

As the sun was up and I knew I'd be shooting at wide apertures, I fitted a new Hoya HMC 4 Stop ND filter, and left the X-T1 on Auto ISO - Film Sim was initially set to Velvia.

The Fuji 23mm 1.4 Lens was used throughout.

Great set, Chris. Where was this at? (There's a Cars and Coffee Saturday morning gig in Irvine that I have yet to go to. I assume these photos were at a meet up in SD area?)

Thanks Brian - I know the Irvine one you mean, it's just down from my office off Alton.

This one was at the Carlsbad Outlets - a weekly informal get together

Fabulous et Chris. I do like the car detail shots of yours. You should put a set of just details together. Or even a book!
Thanks Pete - good idea - I need to follow Davie's example and get my arse in gear - or at least in print!

Lovely stuff. Love the dof on these :)
Thanks Dave - bit of a wide-open-fest, but I like the look, and it seems to work well with the subjects

Awesome series Chris. Did you also get the Fujifilm 56/1.2 len? I heard the new 56 len rocks
Thanks Aldous - 56mm is on it's way from Tokyo, and I should have it by Wed - currently stalking the FedEx tracker webpage! :)

One more from yesterday - this is the car I always fantasied about as a kid - Guards Red 911 - Classic!

Certainly a classic. I wonder if the owner is a bit on the plump side?! ;)
Didn't spot that - that's hilarious - although in the US they don't do the whole number plate short code thing that happens in Blighty

That's cool Chris, pls show us some photos with your new 56/1.2, I might want to pay for it later for my XE1. Between Lotus is my dream car

This was just a bit over the top for a matured man. Wonderful images of wonderful carridges with obviously a wonderful camera and lens, done by absolutely a qualified photographer. I did not know that I had envy in me.

Thank you Ivar

oooh, love this series. #2 is my personal favorite of the bunch, love the crop and tones on that one. the mclaren shot is a close second..
Thanks Beth - I have done that #2 shot before with the Blad, but I still like it. The McLaren was nuts, but in a very poor spot to photograph, so that's all I got!
