You might have noticed i'm very quiet on here the last week... well, along side the work on the house im having done im working on a big project involving cinemagraphs ... I wont go into it now as it is for a client, but i thought it worth showing you a shot of my self, feeling how you might expect after doing work and having work done on the house ... Very tired basically ... :)

So, what do you think? nice effect?

Thats wonderful and a bit scary at the same time, love it Hamish. There is something about the general pose / composition as well that I like with or without the eye moving. I find that you take portraits of people that seem to convey some thing about them well.

Id love to tell you about it, its very exciting... but unfortunately you will have to wait until march to see the finished thing! :/

it is a little unsettling isnt it, thats why it works i think!
Thank you Paul, I intend to pursue my portraiture I bit more next year, mainly spurred on by positive comments on here about them ...
I have some ideas :)

... I should do a cinemgraph tutorial i think... most on the net are **** or geared up to ones made using video... this is just high frame rate photography!
Although, i have to say, it does make me want a camera capable of very high frame rates/video ... the nikon j1 springs to mind, but im not sure i could cope with its loss light performance...
Maybe I will just have to get a d4? ;)
(or 5dmkii before anyone chirps up ;))

That is soooo creepy - the eye movement thing is cool though! :D :D :D

WWHHOOOAAA!! Thats trippy man!! lol You know I don't mind that. lol

I can see this sort of thing BIG like the old masters with those eyes that truly follow you round, now that would be something :)
Like it Hamish am intrigued too..
