Colours Changing???

I don't know why but the colours on my shots seem to change when I upload them to Photobucket.

If you click on the attached shot you can see how it looks when viewed through Lightroom, Photoshop and Windows media viewer.

But when uploaded to Photobucket, or viewed through Infranview (which my son prefers as his picture viewer) the colours look dull.

Anyone any ideas or is it just my computer ???

You're attached image is in ProPhotoRGB but that's getting changed to sRGB somewhere during upload.

If you work fully in sRGB the image will look the same wherever you view it.

What color space are you editing in in Lightroom - sRGB, Adobe RGB?

I suspect the color space that photo bucket use is different than your editing software.

Typically web uses sRGB, which is a lowest common denominator color space.

Adobe RGB has a great range of tones available, which are not then displayed in sRGB - so if your editing software uses Adboe RGB, you'll get this change in image look when posting to the web.

Not so much a need to change the colour space you work in but more that the colour handling on Photobucket is a bit dodgy. Stick to ProPhotoRGB as your working space but change the setting in the Export as JPEG function.

I have the same issue but never bothered to think about it too much assuming it was just losses from Jpeg conversion of the RAW file, I only compared the preview in LR to the Photobucket Jpeg.
