Easter Fire

One of the big events in the calendar in the small villages in Lower Saxony is the Easter Fire. I've never been there when one was actually happening (I'm reliably informed it isn't a must-see event though), but the after effects are always there to see (along with the flattened beer bottle caps).

It's that sort of place. Where the ordinary, just grabs you.

That might explain where all the people were. Warm sunny day (but very windy - as usual) and not a soul about except for 3 kids playing football when we left the house (and then they'd gone by the time we went back past).

I prefer the composition with a bit of the sky cropped off the top but in other ways I prefer it as it is. Its the symmetry between the center line and the vignettes. That just me probably I do like photographs that contrast with non photographic elements.
