A little dark, but none the worse for it, I'd say. Looks like your eye is 'in' for picking suitable bw subjects. Excellent start!

Thank you both for the kind words :-)

I really enjoyed shooting B&W, got to look for shapes and textures, it's a whole different ball game.

I've just finished a roll of Infrared B&W traffic film in my other Vito B, can't wait to see how that turns out.

I wouldn't worry about being a top or two out, these are a good start, and the second and third work well me thinks :)

I agree with Dave. In fact, number one is my fav of the set (although one didn't load so I don't know what that looks like.)

Infrared,...? What film? And did you use a filter Andrew?

I didn't use a filter - do you mean infrared filter? No, I don't think I was meant to (?). The film was this. (btw If you look at their example photos, that shot of the kids bike I rather like)

(BTW - the forum ate my previous answer to this?!)

I'm with Brian - loving the way #1 turned out - under exposure or not

Looking good Andrew and that second one really has worked out very well indeed. In fact looking at the others on our site I also like the way the highlights are handled in many of them. Although it might not have been intentional, it was worked well in many case.

Just thought I'd check the negatives and ran them through my cheap film scanner.

Top one - rescan. Bottom, original. I think I'm owed a refund, or at least a reprint. And this one is not the worst by a long shot.

EDIT - unless my scanner's exposure and balance is automatic.
