First Shot with X100

Rob MacKillop

Edinburgh Correspondent
Trying to get used to the X100 before heading off to the Edinburgh Pinhole Camera Festival later this morning. I have a fairly steep learning curve with digital photography, and this shot is a little out of focus. However, I've had MANY disasters trying to photograph my guitars - so shiny, and lots of light reflections - but this shot is the best I've managed, thanks to this fine camera. I know that buying this camera will not make me into a photographer, in fact it will probably reveal my shortcomings and lack of real photographic technique, but I'm up for the challenge!

Loving the colors in those guitars Rob - they're are a subject worthy of spending some time on for sure

If you're anything like me, my head was spinning after an hour with the manual!!

I love the archtop guitars, Rob. Also the Dobro. By the way, the original Dobro company, eventually bought over by Gibson I do believe, was based here in Huntington Beach. In fact, a good friend of mine's father tried to buy the company from the woman who inherited it (and wasn't interested in it) and very nearly sealed the deal before Gibson swooped in. Too bad. Would have loved to still have that company here in HB.

Bonnie fotie!

Ha, Emma, I think I might be...:D

Chris, yes, my head was spinning after ploughing through the manual. Still spinning, in fact. For my trip to the pinhole workshop today, I just put everything on automatic. Safe.

Interesting Dobro story, Brian. Never played a real Dobro. Mine was made in Taiwan...I hardly ever play it, but enjoy it when I do.
