From Cramond Brig

If you are ever in Edinburgh, avoid Princess Street, and take a walk on the wild side. This is the Cramond Brig over the River Almond. After taking my last film shot, I saw a young deer in the garden on the left. No more film! [doh]

Mamiya RB67 Pro SD, K/L 90mm lens, and some kind of film...:o

I felt this one benefited from a tiny, tiny bit of darkening in Levels.

BTW, the original is 93MB!

Lovely image, Rob.

Too bad you missed the deer. That's the problem with film cameras. You run out of film. You really should consider shooting with a digital camera. Why,...with my Canon 7D and a 16 gig memory card I can get nearly a thousand images (RAW+JPEG) and I can fire away like a machine gun maniac at everything and anything and never miss nothing. ;)

I can never put my finger on but there is something special about medium format film. Rob, I am in Edinburgh a couple of times a year and this looks a wonderful location is this very far from the centre?

love the mirror reflection in the water. excellent tones, almost good enough to forgive you for forgetting the film type...;)

Steve, it's a 20-minute bus ride from the centre. Just search for Cramond Brig on Google Maps. The river Almond runs under the bridge, out to the Forth river, about a mile and a half walk. Where it meets the Forth is the village of Cramond - all very photographable!

Cool thanks Rob, I did a series of shots by the rail bridge at Queens ferry earlier this year. I will search out Cramond on my trip next year or hopefully sooner if the job comes off.
