For the moment I'm living in Gothenburg but will probably move to Stockholm by the end of this year or early
next year. Yes I hope this site will be as good as it looks to me now. I earlier used to spend some time at
dpreview but was put of by the language and the endless bashing threads. It's a pity cause they have some real good forum members with very interesting views and knowledge in the area but they get drowned in the
huge amount of strange and often, in my view, meaningless input from some people.

I know what you mean Dan. I looked on there yesterday having realised that Ricoh had just released a GR Digital IV and wondered if it might be worth looking at. The main review was OK but the stuff underneath it was just unbelievable. Sadly, I even got drawn into reading it!! As was asked on a thread here once, why write this stuff?!! Anyway enough of that, enjoy the forum and its fresh and friendly ways!!

yeah, we are trying to buck the trend of internet idiot postings here, in fact it was my very first motive in getting the place going a few years ago ...
so far so good!
I'm not sure we quite yet have the potential knowledge base of DPR but with every new member we are a step in that direction!
and at least here people seem to avoid, or hopefully just arent the type of people to post the meaningless cack!

I think you are our first Swedish member, you are certainly the first to post and almost definitely the first to have spent 10 years in Africa!
what were you up to for 10 years?

Welcome Dan, I hope that you find it all very pleasant here on RPF. I don't think I have seen an argument yet. We had one member go off the rails once but he crashed through a barrier and fell into a deep ravine nether to be seen again! It is great to have a bunch of people who just want to be positive about their hobby / profession which is what I think Hamish has created here,.

Welcome Dan. You have posted some amazing photos on your web site. The people shots are wonderful but I was especially struck by the animal photos: the cheetah, the crocs, the crane and the bird in flight. Just wonderful!
