I didn't venture far just down the back of Saltbox Mansions, with my smoke generator, a single speedlight on stand fitted with a beauty dish with a blue and yellow gel fitted. Set at about four feet slightly angled up and fired remotely during a 10 second exposure, from tripod mounted D7000 800ISO f5.6
the Beauty dish could be inappropriate here on such a grim face but it does give that slightly soft edge to the shadows which I think adds a little to the tension...
