Hello All,

Just joined this forum, though I might pick up a few tips and as time goes on maybe share a few. I've just bought a Mint Voigtlander Vito B and am planning to run a couple of rolls (Black and white and colour) through it over the next few weeks and see what I can get.

I enjoy getting out and taking candid shots, although a DSLR does sometimes make that difficult.

This is a new area for me. I've been using SLR and DSLR for years and have a modest understanding of manual control with them. I've produced some really satisfying results. But having said that it's not easy to "screw up" with a DSLR. They make you lazy and generally there is little to think about other than composing the shot.

So, here I am with a 1937 Voight, and it does look like a proper camera.

I'll look forward to some banter.

I'm out today with an Ihagee Exa, another German camera although more an slr, still very small!

it is Brian, 1954 was the first vito b ...
the first vito was 1940, but thats a different camera altogether

I was hoping to be out today but I got caught up with family stuff. I might escape tomorrow.

One question ........ I know it's probably something that's a personal choice, but generally, for outdoor shots what films work best in the voight ????

It's an older lens so more punchy colour films will counteract the lower contrast ...
Consumer films like "Fuji superior" (has x-tra in big writing on the box) tend to be more punchy than pro films
I'd guess that would be a good place to start
400iso should give you a good range of shooting opportunities at this time of year
Especially with it in mind that it is easier to shoot stopped well down with a zone focusing camera
