Hello from Cumbria

Hi all

I joined this forum after reading Hamish' posts on a few Hifi forums of which I'm a fellow member.

I've lived in Cumbria for nearly thirty years and have always been astonished by the sheer beauty of the Lakes and Hills. My particular loves for both walking and taking photos are waterfalls/rivers etc and caves-and yes, I've fallen in a few trying to get that special snap :o

I have just bought a Canon EOS 400D with a Sigma 18-200mm zoom from a work colleague that I'm trying to learn how to use. This has superceded an Olympus C450 that I thought was excellent but I've always wanted to try a camera where I could swap lenses.

Learning curve starts here.

Very best wishes to you all

Ian

I'm supprised anyone follows me across from aos anymore the amount of crap I talk on there ...
The last nonsense was kindles and the evolution of technology ... Utter silliness that thread IMO ;)

Anyway, good to have another aos member ...

Hope we can help with the new canon!
Big step up from the Olympus, I'm sure you will get a lot out of it!
So yeah good luck with the learning curve, you know where we are if you need anything eh :)

So, do we get to see some photos of these caves/rivers/waterfalls you have fallen in? ;)
