Hello

Hello. I'm Patrick, and I'm slowly beginning to get into Photography. I'm still quite the amateur but I'm learning as time goes by. I currently own a Nikon D7000, with a Tamron 18-270mm lens which I heard is a pretty good choice, for travel. And I'm one of those people who doesn't like to be constantly switching lenses. I'm interested in landscape photography as well as aircraft photography. Aviation is definitely my main hobby, so I spend a lot of time spotting at London Heathrow. Right, enough of the chit chat. I'm just hoping this will be a friendly community, and I'll be able to have a nice time with you all.

We are certainly a freindly forum here :)
welcome, and yes, I would say that is a very good choice of camera and lens!
i guess we can look forward to some photos of planes then?
Are you a "plane spotter" then ... I have to say thats a new one on me!
I can sort of see the attraction, certainly under a flight path ... The noise must be quite something!
Other than that, they all pretty much look the same to me ... At least ones I would expect to find at heathrow! I guess that i am probably very wrong though?!

A bit wrong, yes! ;) There are millions, there is so much variety.

Where would I post spotting photos? In which section, I mean?

Welcome Patrick - you've found the friendliest photography forum on the InterTubes here :)

Looking forward to seeing some photos and hearing more about the aviation hobby
