Critique Welcomed I Don't See The Sunrise

I don't often see a sunrise unless I happen to still be awake from the night before but I had to stop on a recent trip to Tempe Az to grab these.

These are both the same Sunrise captured about 5 minutes and 2 miles apart off of Highway 60 between Wickenburg and Surprise Az.

Obviously the settings used were significantly different on the two images

Lovely light!

If only the closer bird in No1 was separated from the clouds - or fully over them.

Damn, Dave! Good eye. I never noticed either bird until I saw your comment and went back and looked again. (And I had to look for a while to see the further one.)

I love that second shot, Bobby. The cactus and mountains in silhouette and that odd kind of flare going up from the sun are delightful, as is the silveriness of the clouds.

Nice light and color. I like the second one best. No power lines. The sun backlighting the saguaro is great.

funny thing about birds in flight, they don't follow direction well. I felt fortunate to catch them at all but I agree it would have been awesome of the once had cleared the cloud. I need to look back I took a couple frames he might be clear in the next one in the series

Love that road! so many cacti as you head towards Surprise

Love #2, really gives a feel for the location

Interesting flare on the sun disc - did you have a filter on?
