Im excited about this lens

and me ... ive had a bit of a splurge the last two days ...
my 28mm 1.8 nikon just turned up ...
this summarit and in a last minute bargain deal I also bought a cv 50mm color-skopar ... although i might flog that again depending on how good/bad it turns out to be ...
need to sell some stuff now!

Wow. Very interesting effect: It turns everyone Chinese!

:D

Gosh i didnt realise these were this kind of affordability. I had been looking at Jupiter8 50 f1.5 which an early 60s seem to go at around half the price of the Summarit.
If i get round to saving i would like to get a 50 1.5 & the jupiter9 85mm f2.

£250 seems to be the going rate ... This one looks good, feels solid, condition is good (apart from where some fool engraved his name) ... the glass is very clear, very minor scratches, and very little dust!

annoyingly, I brought the rd1 to work to test it, but forgot to bring a mount adapter ... ...

I'm no expert, but when I've scanned negatives from that lens I've been most impressed with the quality, especially at the edges. Used carefully you get that lovely glow with highlights, but I have been caught out and ruined shots with some terrible flare. Otherwise it is a very clean lens. I obviously boost the contrast a tad with those images, but not to any great extent. I think I'm going to give it an outing in London come this winter :)

It's swirly!
