JJC Lens hood for X100 - LHJX100

Couldn't stomach the $130+ for the official Fuji X100 lens hood and adapter ring - nice as the packaging was!

Instead, I read up some reviews online, and hit amazon for the $25 JJC LHJX100 Lens Hood and adapter ring, which arrived from WA yesterday.

Quality is first rate - nice fit and finish - color matches perfectly, and the adapter ring screwed onto the X100 lens smoothly, allowing the main hood to be clipped on/of on it's own mini bayonet mount.

The adapter also allows for a 49mm filter to be screwed into it - although I've yet to test this.

Looks identical to the Fuji, and provide excellent shade and mechanical protection. Matt black paint inside cuts down internal reflections, and the hood is vented just like the original.

... I was lucky enough to still have the shop to get stuff from when I got mine ... Got the adapter, hood and ERC for about £80 from memory!

Trade discount eh Hamish ;)

Fixed the original image link - would certainly recommend people look at the JJC and use the left over money for filters/memory cards/going somewhere interesting to photograph... etc etc

Looking at the JJC website - they now do various hood models with different filter sizes - so you can choose one that matches your existing filters perhaps.

I'm already using 49mm for the Canonnet, so no probs there.

I can now confirm that the 49mm filters fit into the lens hood adapter just fine - very nicely in fact :)
