Konica Hexar not firing

I thought I’d try to get my ‘eye in’, so put an out of date roll into the Hexar. Seven shots in and it stops clicking. It drove me nuts as sometimes it took a shot, often it wouldn’t. Then the exposure count jumped from 19 to 26. Maybe it had been shooting, just not registering it? I’ll have to get it repaired, but before I do, any advice would be welcome.

Actually, come to think of it, maybe it needs a battery? I haven’t used it for three years. It has the most complicated menu system ever made, so I’ll have to read the online manual to find out how to get a readout on the power level.

It's not the battery; its just that the camera has aged out. It's junk now. Send it to me and I will dispose of it for you. (Free of charge to you, Rob.)

English or shall I say the Scottish version of it, is strange. " It did not fire!" "It won't shoot." Or have I missed something? Do the cameras on that continent do the opposite of what it is designed to do?😇
