A new video featuring the banjo sent to me by the Deering company - it's stunning. The music is by the wonderfully-named, Bertie Bassett (such a sweetie) from 1922:

 
Be careful what you ask for! I once played archlute with a baroque ensemble, some Monteverdi. Anyway, the conductor took ages to come on stage, where we were all assembled. The audience were getting restless...so I started a 12-bar blues, and the harpsichordist joined in. The audience loved it, the other musicians too. The only guy who didn't like it was the conductor, who was apoplectic afterwards. I didn't mind... :p
