There's an interesting new mode for creative photography, Star Mode:

Allows photographers to easily take photographs of stars at night. The Star mode incorporates three shooting modes: Star Nightscape, Star Trails and Star Time-Lapse Movie. Star Nightscape is for shooting landscapes against starry skies. Star Trails are captured as a series of multiple images and combined into a single composite photograph. The same is possible with Star Time-Lapse Movie – stills images of a starry sky are taken with continuous shooting and then combined to create a stunning movie.

Both models feature a fast f/1.8 lens - so creative BOKEH shots are possible, as well as low light shots utilizing the built-in image stabilization.

Pricing from B&H looks to be $549 for the G16, and $449 for the S120.
