Critique Welcomed Patio Lights

You'll try anything for a picture with a new camera  I really suspect this is a junker snapshot and I'm just bored and enjoying the ability to take handheld shots in the dark with the Fuji, but you never know ...

FYI, the bit I find interesting is how the light pattern on the pavers wraps down the bevels in the joint between stones in the foreground. If I had the macro lens for this thing I would attempt an abstract of just the light pattern on the stones. I tried one at the shop yesterday and it kinda redefines "slow focusing", so my lust was killed dead for the moment, even at used prices from KEH.

That works rather well Keith - love the DOF effect with the distant lights

The Fuji 60m Macro is dog slow to focus, but may be the sharpest lens of the bunch

It needs a longer lens hood to remove all flare, so I improvise with a black paper tube and some tape - works a treat!

I really like it, Keith, and agree the light bending on the pavement is the best bit. I'm wondering if it needs so much empty black space at the top? Maybe it does ;)

Thanks, guys - glad I'm not seeing things. I'll take a shot at cropping it more, but I kinda like the sense of space the shadow area above gives it. You might be right. I'll fool with it after I process what I took this morning.

lol, i thought this would be a contender for a square pete crop when before i read the comments. the light on the rocks? in the jar is pretty interesting, but the light pattern on the pavement steals the show. nicely spotted.
