I got asked to do a wee photo shoot at my works open day the other week. First time Ive done anything like this but think did ok. Never used a flash as thought it would annoy the customers so used tripod and shutter speedof around 125. I kno wthere are probably things I could have done better so please feel free to say whats good or bad :D:D

I think you've got a good bundle amongst those Allan. Well done

Well done, Allan. You have some really good shots in there I think. I like that you shot with available light, but I wouldn't have thought a tripod was necessary at that speed. But hell, what do I know? You've created a fine set of images.

Cheers guys.
Im not the steadiest at times when shooting freehand and as they were moving thought id half the chances o failure and use the tripod :D:D:D

Would have been very challenging to light those big spaces with flash Allan - so you'd have had nicely lit people and a dark hole backdrop most likely

You could have balanced fill flash with ambient, but even then you'd have a color balance issue between subject and background.

Natural light worked well I think - you could always experiment bumping up the ISO a bit to get a faster shutter speed if you felt it was needed to freeze movement in people?

Ah didnt think of that Chris will keep ISO thing in mind as dont do much PEOPLE photoging hehe

A damn fine set Allan and I agree with Chris' comments on the lighting. There a few where I'm not sure where the focus should be and it might be worth thinning a few out with an ultra-critical eye to tell the story that you want to tell. And what a clean place and I'm impressed that someone has thought about the colour scheme of an industrial space. Super stuff. :)

My gaffer wasnt exactly sure what HE wanted P ete so thats why its a bit of a mixed bag of everything. It was all last minute stuff so no planning went into it just walk around shooting stuff that was my instructions lol :(
