In the window of this trendy shoe shop there where many rectangle shelves hanging from the roof & kind of framing pairs of shoes, i noticed through this sqaure thie pretty woman looking driectly back at me

Just going to raise the tone here!! Great shot daz and as you planed wonderfully framed by the shop front display. Was she smiling as she turned and saw you or did she give a big smile when she realised she was being papped? Bet she loved it eather way!!Love the B&W tones.

It works for me because she appears to be smiling at the shoes!
I wonder if it might have been slightly better had the shoes been slightly more in focus?
as i understand it some girls like shoes!

Certainly the framing works very well. But is she smiling at the shoes or the photographer. I think it is the latter and I like the engagement that gives: here the interaction between photographer and subject works well.

I spotted her through my lens, as she looked at me she had the OMG look then smiled, just as i pressed the shutter.

I like the ooooof just wish i had used a smaller aperture so maybe the shoes would have been a little more noticeable / recognisable

Which is why I asked about the smile. There is no falseness to it as though she is slightly embarrassed but enjoying the situation also how she holds her arm in a coy guarding manner. I honestly think if it where a straight shot with no shoes or frame it wouldn't appeal to me as much. I think it's beautiful. Most street shots that have eye contact tend to have a standoff "why are you thaking a photo of me" stare but she's so natural. For me the stuff in the fore ground adds to the story and the mystery of the smile it's kind of like when you see a girl looking and not sure if she's into you or has seen a friend behind you of you have something written on your face from when you passed out at your mates house the night before....... I think I love her

nooooooooo, stood opposite to her was a large body builder type African looking guy with mussels bigger than my head, thought i had better leave it at a photo and move on................Swiftly
