Same Crane, Same Time, Same Location, Different cameras

I liked the look of this crane and I though I'd try to get a shot of it as the sun descended behind it. This is on Terminal Island, California.

The one above I took with a Zeiss Ikon Ikonta 521/16. I used Fuji Acros film. (100 ASA). I guessed at the exposure and I can't recall what exposure I used.

A few moments later--or earlier, can't recall which image I shot first--I took the shot below with my Olympus XA. I used Walgreen's brand (i.e., Fuji) 800ASA film.

For both images I was shooting through a chain-link fence and this reduced my freedom to aim.

Wish I coulda got the arms into the frame.

Thanks Pete. Funny how you sometimes see things in your picture that you wished in retrospect that you had emphasized (or noticed, even). As I was uploading these last night I noticed in the 2nd shot the foreground shadows of the crane, which I like. I must make my way back there in late afternoon and have another go at it.

Looks like a scene from War of the Worlds - excellent!

The blue metallic toning on #2 is very effective
