San Diego's new courthouse

Chris has already seen these, too, and so has anyone else who follows me on Flickr, but I'll repost here. Our city just received a new Federal courthouse building, after 8 years of planning and delays. It was designed by the "starchitect" Richard Meier and his main collaborator, Michael Palladino. This is the same team responsible for the Getty Museum in LA, as well as many other famous buildings.

Anyway, those of you know know me understand that's like waving a red flag in front of a bull. So I took some photos as soon as it was complete, and have managed to sell them to a few magazines and such.

Here are some examples:

Excellent as usual, Darren. I figure that seemingly lonely chap in 1, 4 and 5 is you, and I also think that's you on the stairs in 7, having put yourself there just to show us that's a set of stairs. ;)

The exif data on your recent Flickr shots shows that you're using a 24mm lens a lot. Same in these, Darren?

Thanks Beth and Brian. And yes, that's me in most of those shots (I make a good model, don't you think? ;-) ) But the last one, no, I'm not in that shot. But I sat there for a while until somebody came down the staircase! And yes, I believe that was the 24 for most of those... or the 17. Usually, the 24, though.

Brill as usual! I love the fact that you put your self into photos ...
What do you think it adds to an image? Just scale or somthing else ... I feel unfulfilled if I go out shooting and don't get a photo with a person walking in it ...

Fantastic set - it's already a great looking building, and you've really brought out some stunning angles

Very sci-fi
