Shooting buildings with a ten-stop ND filter

Saw Rob's post a while back on using a ten-stop filter, so thought I'd post a couple of shots of my experiments with one... using architecture as the subject (shocking, I know).

Rob emphasized the effects it has on water, which is a nice way to go. But I thought I'd focus on clouds in mine. They leave streaks and tend to isolate the buildings more, creating an almost abstract composition.

Yep, thats awesome :D

Both stunning, Darren! Really beautiful. Great idea too. I've had clouds in mind for landscapes, but am very impressed at how well they've turned out with close cropping to buildings. Excellent.

Blimey that's VERY cool :)

Yep - gonna do me some of those - thanks for the inspiration :)

these are fantastic! the second reminds me of some spaceship-hitting-lightspeed movie moment, and makes my eyes go funny.

Love the second one. It has unique angle and symmetry, Darren. Great texture of concrete.

Thanks, everyone!

I'm with you, Lesley. There are photographers with websites full of this sort of thing. It's a bit overdone, but I took these almost as a way to prove a point. I don't plan on doing a ton...

Very nice!
its all about doing it for te right reasons for me... For some it's par for the course ... I think in the right circumstance it's a great effect ...
I suppose you can say that about a lot of of things!
