Street Dance

.... and on the double yellow too. Good moment captured Julian. The guy to her left seems to be in full voice with some hymn. Is it possible she has had a few?

Thank you Tom, yes as many it is Padstow Obby Oss May 1st. Plenty of tipple all day long . One or two members here would have enjoyed the day, not to mention names ;)

Whichever time you spent and I believe you, it was enough time to catch a pleasant moment of joy, for us spectators and the performer. Very good.

Thank you Ivar. It was one of those days where I was undecided about going, mostly for the bad weather forecast. It turned out to be a nice day, which was a bonus as I did not quite feel it was a great day photographically apart from a couple of shots. Yet sometimes two good shots is good enough.

Nicely captured, Julian. That woman is in her own wee world. So too is the young lady in the background left, who is clearly enchanted by the young man. Very nice stuff.

Yes Brian a lot of love in the air. I'm becoming a grumpy old man, so sadly I am immune from it, or maybe it is, I need that medicine they all seemed to be taking. IPA or something.

Superb candid Julian and I like the little cluster of people; the lady in her own world; the couple beside her, amused / embarrassed; the hymn singer and the young couple in the background.
Thanks Pete. The two cut of characters on the right were very drunk, but playing to the audience, where as the lady was in her world oblivious of others. Possibly the eccentric of Rick Stein's territory.

I'VE COME BACK TO IT AGAIN. There's something about the picture that won't let me go. The colours, each and every character in the picture as well as its sharpness and level of light in the picture. Is this how you captured it Julian or have you darkened it a bit. It's truly great. OR IS IT ALSO THE WORK OF MERLIN?;) I see you made it with an Omp.

Ivar I rarely post an image without doing something to to it, if ever. Everything is shot raw and I then work on 16bit Tiff's in Photoshop. Yes this was with the Olympus OM-D E-M5 and the Panasonic Leica 25mm f1.4. From memory, I vignetted the image and pulled the dancing figure to the front or separating her by, contrast, and saturation. I convert the image from RGB to LAB colour. This is a good idea if you are using contrast adjustments, as in LAB colour, using contrast does not effect the colours as much as if using contrast in RGB. Then back to RGB, I worked a bit on the tones of the colours, such as the yellow, then cleaned up the whites, using selective colours. Simply to brighten her. Five minutes tops I guess.
So sadly the Merrill's stayed at home other than the DP3. I had been neglecting the OM-D I started to feel unfaithful. Then I felt unfaithful to the other two Merrill's. So to make up I am today hopefully going to get out and use the Merrill's once again. I shall therefore find out if I have been forgiven for leaving them in the dark at the bottom of a bag. Today I shall let the light shine on them. ;)

Thank you Julian for your reply. I learn every day hopefully and obviously today. Having several different camera systems make me at least bewildered and as you say "feeling unfaithful" to the ones which are left behind when you have several. Therefore and of other reasons as well, I have now only one system, the Fuji X-E1. There might be another Fuji later on, but still the same system with a little twist.:)
