Swan & Cygnet's

Dan Down - The Steampunk Womble
My very first 'successful' pictures with my 70 300mm lens hand held,
The last thing on my mind is altering my ISO and I have a tendency to keep it glued on 100, although 125, and 160 are my next stops, I hated the idea of affecting image quality due to my 'not so good 4/3rds sensors noise reduction'. Anything above 800 generally ends up as a B+W, at least that way you can get away with it. These pictures were taken at the Marina in Reading on the weekend and it was significantly windy, 100 ISO, was blowing me and my Oly about making the images nice and...... 'moving' and upping the shutter was under exposing....
So, I pressed an option that is not often used (especially with the 70 300 on(the ISO)) took it up to a measly 160..... and thats all it needed!!!!!!

Thanks you for looking peoples :)

Nice one Dan - that first one is a great composition

Nice ones Dan, the Cygnets look so cute and fluffy lol.

Nice one matey...
This is the advantage of 4/3rds cams I guess 300mm gives effective 600mm ...
Can't imagine worrying about 200iso image quality though!!
Nice shots ... How close were you?

Cheers guys

I was about 7 meters away at the very most, mother swan had no chance getting to me unless I stepped over a barrier and slid on my rear down a 45 degree drop! Lol. She was very placid and intensive with the everyone looking, almost as we all weren't there! I suppose she is nesting next to the Marinas pub garden! :)

Very nice shots Dan
