I had decided that while the rest of the country was either still partying or nursing the mother of all hangovers I would have a trip into the Highlands, the day? New Years Day.

Another fabulous shot there Davie and a super article to accompany it. As you say, the rainbow is a bonus but for it is the way the colour of the water reflects the colour of the forest behind. You get a real impression of the force of the water in this shot and the shutter speed you have selected is just right for that I think. Again it has a bit of the dramatic 19th century landscape painting about it that I like a lot.

Thanks Pete, I'm really happy to receive the compliment of it looking like a painting, it's a style I like that I seem to have inadvertantly fell on :)

Davie - completely agree with Pete, the composition and the lighting have a very strong 'historical painting' feel to them, you're clearly challenging your inner old master.

I'm loving the interlocking arcs formed by the landscape as you go from front to back, and then ending with the arc of the rainbow.

Beyond all the detail in the image - this basic arc theme locks the viewer into a very satisfying repetitive structure

Brilliant stuff :)

Can I assume that this was somewhat challenging to get to? ;)

Thanks guys, and chris not hard at all ... Just a 4 hour drive and the falls were a well worn walk, relatively dull in fact hahah

What, no crampons! :D

not only that , i could have done it in high heels lol... not that i would of course :p
