What's old is new again

I was out with SWMBO on Saturday, and we visited a trendy US store called Urban Outfitters - kind of a clothing store, which also sells trendy 'stuff'.

What should I spy, but a plethora of film cameras, all brand new, being touted as the hip and trendy new thing for the summer.

First off, a kaleidoscope of Holga's - the Chinese wonder camera!

Next was a bevy of Lomography, half frame, all plastic cameras - with removable lenses for ultimate pin-hole jollity

And last, but by no means least, a dedicated plastic fisheye 35mm camera - which I didn't manage to get a shot of :(

They had colour and B&W 35mm film on sale, and even had a couple of the newer Fuji 'instant' cameras on sale.

Who knew that film was soooooo trendy!

Went to the next store along, and saw this

If I still used pencils, I would have bough one :p

We have an urban outfitters in Birmingham ... It sells a similar range of vastly overpriced cameras

Its pretty mental the lomo thing!
I have a half frame Russian toy camera called an agat 18k ... Bought it for £2 from memory ...
I wish I'd bought as many as I could find now, they now sell for £30 on eBay!

I'll do a write up on it next ...
I have a couple of Russian half frames actually, the other is a chaika, great camera!

I wonder how many of those Trendy new film cameras they sold? Where do they buy film and get it processed?

Well, they had film to buy at the store - at least 35mm any way

I think target and Walmart still offer processing - I know costco do
