X-t1 - It's Here!

Looking good Chris. What is your impression of the EVF in practice compared with your Canon's OVF?
It does reming me of the 100% Canon OVF - it's very large, and very bright/sharp - certainly going to give EVF haters something to think about as it's really rather good

It also refreshes really quickly and smoothly - so gives a much better feel of real time

I am amazed by the pictures right out of the camera. After I got my two X-E1, ( don't like to change lenses much ), I never actually use raw anymore. I still do some adjustments in photoshop, but here it seems it's not even neccesary, or am I wrong?
All my heavy DSLRs are all sold, and I don't look back. I like the rangefinder form though, but now I may be hooked. Money is no option at this time, I have none.
I still like RAW IVAR as I have more creative control and I don't run into issues like banding if I really need to tweak an image - having said that the Fuji JPEG engine is one of the best there is

Chris - nice looking images (as expected) but I think your bird shot is a Great Blue Heron, not a crane.

Ah, not a big birding expert - I'll defer to you on that one Keith :)

Well I have just enjoyed a couple of hours out on a lovely walk, with the XT1.......believe the hype..... it's freekin awesome.
Focus is on a different planet to my X pro, seriously quick, did a subject tracking test, fast walking girlfriend on afs with 8 frames per second and shot 21 images all in focus. Tried it on afc and although in the viewfinder the image looked out as the camera is just constantly focussing every frame was spot on. Joy of Joys :)

The viewfinder is a marvel, like watching a widescreen tv, clear and bright all the shooting info can be seen easily even in bright sunlight. The buttons which seem to have come in for some stick I found to be just right no more accidental pressing. But why oh why did they put the video on button next to the shutter dial, a couple of time I found out I was recording video. All in all my first couple of hours with it have highlighted to me how Fuji have stepped up and designed a very serious contender to a Dslr, it will never be as fast as my D3 but it bloody damn close.

The remote app and wi-f1 works very well, as dies downloading images onto a tablet, the images below were download onto my ipad, I used snapseed as a quick editor it's really the first time I've edited on the pad so I'm not sure how they compare to my iMac. The remote app works a treat and can see lots of possibilities with it.
