Afternoon Folks

Hello

Just joined today. Been taking pictures since Feb 2010. Took it up to take some decent pictures of my various walks round the Ullswater area (5 miles from home). After a few months the camera began to take over my life and I started to go out just taking pictures - preferably dawn if I'm able to. Still early days for me but I'm thinking of changing from Pentax to the Nikon D800E. Downside would be that I'd only have a couple of lenses to start with but thats one of those things. I'm trying to get a wee bit more serious with the photography and a change now might make sense.

Hi there Mark! I thought your name was familiar and then I remembered someone on a forum (past or present) posted a link to your site. I was at work at the time and couldn't see the images properly, but I'm so glad to have a second chance. They are stunning - not just in a technical way, but full of mood too. I look forward to seeing more of your work :)

Welcome, Mark. Great site here, where you will feel at home afore long. Just had a look at your pics - wow! Stunning. I hate you already ;-)

Welcome mark,
Love your technique and shots.
Look forward to seeing more. :)

Another fan of long exposures and wide crops - Welcome! :D

Love the long exposure work especially - hope we'll see more and maybe pick up some tips on filters, setting etc as we go along.

Hi Mark......... Welcome aboard.

Pete

Cheers for the welcome :-)

Long exposure is definitely one of my favourites although to be honest I've not been on the go long enough to establish a particular style. Dawn long exposure is a bit of a killer in the summer (when you get to my age). If I do a couple in a week I end up falling asleep in my pint.

Props to you for getting up early and giving its something to look at that we've never seen! :D

Its got to be done Chris :-)

Up Stac Pollaidh at the end of this month with a couple of pals - intention is to walk up for the sunset. Bivvy on top and take some night shots, get the dawn light and wander on down and drive home.

Went up The Fiddler for dawn in February - long walk uphill in the pitch black and unfortunately it was a cloudless sky. View was still tremendous - my mate Pete on the edge of a 1,000 foot plus drop off.

That is some view!

Im not sure I'd agree that you don't have a style ... There is ddefinitely a family resemblance to a lot of your photos ... Maybe it's just subject matter??

I look forward to seeing more anyway!!!

Welcome. Nice one, Mark, I'm glad you've made it over to RPF! I love your work & look forward to seeing more of it over here & maybe read a little about your technique.

Welcome Mark,

Glad you made it over here. Now you can depress me, with your photographs, on two forums :p. I really do like your work and you definitely have a style. You make me miss the Lake District too!

Regards

Milan
