Angry Bird!

He (or she) has been perched on that portion of the plaza leading on to the Huntington Beach Pier for a couple of weekends in a row that I know of. I think he (or she) scavenges for carrion. He (or she) doesn't look like a mere seed-eater to me.

Ignore him Brian, he's having you on. If I'm not mistaken that's a Red Cardinal. It's actually a ground feeding seed eater and I suspect it's just lost. Probably confused and angry because it can't find any seeds on the paving and is now too weak to fly. I would suggest buying some seeds from the local pet supplies and sprinkling some around the area. Once it gets it's strength back it'll soon be on its way. It's the humane thing to do. Either that or a shotgun!!

Oh, and I guess the girl in the red top just happened to be in the field of view!!

LOL! Yes! I keep that one in my field of view as much as possible. That's my daughter Meg, undoubtedly embarrased by my efforts to shoot the angry cardinal!
