Just gave myself a 'Happy NEw YEar' gift of the current Apple TV - $99
Smashing bit of kit - small black puck with HDMI, EtherNet, Optical Out, Power
Connected it up to the Panny Plasma, Optical to my CA DACMagic, Wireless to my dedicated AV WiFi on an Airport Extreme.
Took about 10 mins to set up - then it did it's own refresh of software.
Superb in all respects so far - streaming audio sounds lovely - image quality is crisp - streaming is fast and trouble free
Love the way I can hand-off from the iPhone to the TV for video and/or audio - blew swmbo away with that trick
Linked it to my FLICKR feed, so I can now review FLICKR on the telly in HD - nice!
Still buggering about with it - but I've already found that controlling it via the free iPhone REMOTE App is a breeze - everyone should have one at this price!
