Hamish if you have a airlock heres a tip to clear it if you have a kitchen mixer. Take the spout of the mixer, place your hand over the hole open the HOT tap 1st then open the cold. The cold Kitchen tap is always mains fed so this will push out any air trapped in the hot water pipes.....you only need do this if you have a gravity feed hot water supply.

Theres also no need to put PTFE around the thread of the stop end as you have done on the hot feed, put it around the olive instead.
