I couldn't tell you how much it pleases me that you like that image. It was one of those accidental moments where I wanted a glass to contain the cigarette to photograph smoke. No sooner had I put the cigarette in I knew where it could go and so I did the unthinkable, I asked Helen to get her most outrageous cheap lipstick and come into the study. That one cost me a meal at her favourite pub
As I was processing the image I wondered whether to go back and retake it with some talcum powder on the glass to fullfill the 'vice' aspect but I think the woman - alcohol - cigarette gave it simplicity. A fourth element would have pushed it a little to much for the eye but I don't know what others think?
Kev can I get back to you on the vices. Helen has the calculator.
Thank you Fidel. Sunny California? I've some very fond memories of stopping over at Carpinteria state beach near Santa Barbara just as a convention of Jimi Hendrix support bands re-united on the camp site. I'd never before seen two sunsets without sleep!
I'd love to say I like it... I like the concept!
But, and this is probably petty, and I suppose not a comment on your photography, but lipstick on things (even people when it's not subtle) makes me feel very odd!
Concept though, i like! And it's well presented!
