Hi from Dartmouth

Dave Cawley

Media Photographer
..
Hi Guys

A bit of an introduction.

Had my first 35mm 48 years ago. Had my fist SLR 40 years ago. Used a pair of Canon T70's for about 20 years. Bought a D100, then a D200 and now a D700.

I'm a part time professional photographer and specialise in events. Usually in Dartmouth and for the media. Have been published all over in books about Dartmouth including hardback double page spreads.

This week I will peak up to 1,000 shots a day on the D700 to record the Dartmouth Regatta see here for last years results !

I'm a techie but my Mother is an accomplished artist. However I'm not into this arty self indulgent stuff, so I'll stay away from all of that 'cos you wouldn't like my opinion!

On my D700 I only shoot raw and everything I do goes through Photoshop. But what caused me to come here was the Sony RX100, currently I'm using a Canon 300HS for walk around.

Regards

Dave

Hi Hamish

I need to handle a RX100 and I have some questions I'll add to your thread later (in the week).

The Sigma 12-24 full frame, I'm so glad I didn't go for the Nikon on this occasion. I'll post some images later.

Right now it appears I'm the Official Photographer for The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta , something I volunteered for, got passed over, and suddenly he has disappeared.............. So busy, busy, busy!

Dave

Welcome Dave - glad to have you onboard!

This forum can be hazardous to your wallet - you have been warned! :D

Thanks for the great welcome (back) !

My wallet is flexible so no worries there.

The Official Photographer eventually rocked up after missing several events, with a huge grey telephoto, certainly impressed the girls but he had to go 100 feet away to get all of the stage in shot............................
