The d60 is a great camera!
should provide little limitation to someone just starting out ... in fact it should provide little limitation to her for a long time!
very easy to use, all the day to day shooting mode are changed using the the little "i" button and the direction pad to the right of the screen!
it also has built in help and tips accessible by pressing the "?" button.
possibly in competition to sonys built in "steady shot", by the time the d60 was released nikon had introduced the 18-55 vr (vibration reduction) kit lens ... so if it is how it came originally it should have one of those with it ... which to be fair is a pretty respectable kit lens!
10mega pixel sensor ... which is plenty enough res for most people!
great build quality!
it was the successor to the d40x, which was the 10mp version of the 6mp d40 ... which is a superb bit of kit! ...
the only downside to these compact nikon dslrs is that they only work with more modern af lenses that have the af motor in the lens ... not really an issue, but can be a little confusing if you are looking at buying second hand af lenses ... not so much a problem these days as and new af lens for a nikon has the built in motor, but it did make things a bit confusing for people at the time of release ...
if you need any advice on lenses im always happy to help and advise
best of luck to Nosheen with her new camera ... she should join up properly and post some pictures!
