@Paul Lange - I've just looked at these images on my iPad, and am shocked at the Traquair bottle image! It does indeed look like something was spilt on it. I can't see this at all on my one-year old big iMac screen. Very frustrating! Yet it is so obvious on the iPad.

Suggestions on what to do?

Again, I can't see it on my iMac screen, but on the iPad I can see a circle where I took out an overblown light reflection on the Traquair bottle. Very annoying. It's quite high up on the left-hand side of the bottle.

I don't usually have this trouble. Could it be the result of a poor original scan? I've been searching online to find a medium format negs holder - only American stores are showing up.

What size iMac do you have Rob? If it is the same as mine I will email you a copy of my calibration profile and tell you how to install it. It's not really a permanent solution (I recalibrate every 14 days) but it should be better than what you current get by the sound of it. You should then see something very close to anyone else who has a calibrated monitor. I suspect your iPad has much stronger backlighting and that is why you can see it.
