Dug the F5 out last night...

Stuck in 8 fully charged AA batteries.

All lights, metering, AF etc working fine.

Shutter won't fire - film won't load - no error messages to suggest the self-diagnostic shutter has picked up a fault.

If I stick a new film in - and close the back - nothing. No wind on to frame 1 - nothing if I press either shutter button.

It's been stood unused for a couple of years - but worked fine when I last used it.

Thoughts? Do I now have a very nice paperweight? :(

8 fresh high power Duracells - all visible contacts cleaned.

Nowt :(

Everything else works. Displays light up - meter works - AF works.

Not had good expriences at Lehmanns. Both times all they've done is send my stuff to Nikon on a van that only makes one trip per week - without telling me. I could have sent straight to Nikon myself!

£7!
