Darren

Fantastic, I really like the control of the depth of field and the excellent sharpness.

Mark.

All great shots but one, two and four are my pic's of the bunch.

thanks mark i was kind of getting to grips with My new F2.8 aperture on the 70-200mm.........and i think it works well......!!

Lest we ever forget - excellent shots that capture the sombre mood and the memories of these old warriors.

Darren - isn't the 70-200 amazing! Super sharp wide open, and really nice BOKEH.

The ability to isolate the subject, as you have here, is what it's all about.

yes it is an awesome lens chris, so glad i went for the F2.8 IS version.....i get all giddy & star dribbling when i see the results this baby delivers....hahahahaha

Fab set of images Darren lovely and crisp looking, whilst liking them all No1 I dunno what it is but that stands out for me really like that one and No2 that guy soon as I look at the image Windsor Davis's voice springs into my head lol, lovely set of images

I have the same lens on my 40D and it is fantastic.

About 7 or 8 years ago I visited one of my customers and friend Dan Chung to to some Audio visual installation work at his London home. http://www.guardian.co.uk/profile/danchung

( Dan was moved to China now i think and specialises in DSLR video - http://www.dslrnewsshooter.com/ )

This got me hooked on L lenses :) As seeing the quality of original photos taken by a pro with calibrated cameras and L lenses was simply amazing.....

My Dad gave me some money for my 40th birthday so I bought something I would keep for years :)
So I bought the 70 -200 2.8 L IS 7 years ago for my 40th Birthday present :)

I also got an amazing price at the 'Focus on imaging' event at the NEC in 2003 which was actually on my birthday and the guy on the trade stand was the manager of my local Jacobs store ( who I have spent plenty with). He did me an amazing deal, cheaper than importing prices and a free 1.4x convertor and free canon protection filter thrown in, it was my 40th birthday after all :)

Not long after buying the lens we went for a weeks holiday to the Isle of Mull in scotland and visited the treshnish islands for some bird photos.

Stayed here in ' The studio' - fantasic and no mobile phone signal ! http://www.treshnish.co.uk/

Some of the photos taken with D60 and 70-200 2.8 L IS on its first outing are still on pbase after all these years!
