What Size Should Uploaded Images Be??

i just tried to upload a image onto a forum but it tells me the file size is too big. it was only 1mb.
what size do they need to be to be accepted??

Usually anything under 1MB works, but I probably wouldn't notice if you were well under that.

my shots seem to be coming out too big in the post to view normally, should i drop to say 1000 pixels rather than the 2000 i have them at now.

1000 should be fine.

yep I try to keep it to 1200 on the width or 800 on the height for best fit to screens

1600 on the width for my pano shots
