Hello everyone,
I'm Adam, a student at Manchester, started with a DSLR just over a month ago after doing iphoneography for a good while, nice to be here
- I'm a final year student studying Trading Standards, so if anyone has any legal problems, civil & criminal, I'm more than happy to advise :)

Hi Adam and welcome to RPF. I'm sure you'll enjoy this place and I'm looking forward to discussing photography etc with you. What sort of things do you shoot?

Hi pete,
As of now I've only dipped my toes in the water and just had a play around, I've had a go at light painting, which I enjoyed (indoor), I've taken a dip at macro, though without a macro lens I'm quite limited (though I have those macro filters) and just nature shots - flowers, moss and what not.
Though within the next month or two I will have space in the house to DIY a little studio, but it'll literally be backdrops, light stands, umbrellas and flashes for portrait photos - the missus won't be impressed. And I also plan on DIY'ing a still life table for product-like shots , but this is all when the room is done.

On iPhone I've done quite a bit of nature, macro and I started doing street with it, just to build up confidence before taking the camera out. Though with the weather as it has been, I've been a little stuck.

Hi Adam - I'm not far away in Wigan.

Looking forward to seeing your pix! :)

Hi Adam welcome to RPF, i am originally from Manchester now living in wales, but get back 1 or 2 times a month to see family & friends. I am sure you will enjoy your time around the forum.

Looking forward to seeing some of your photos

Hi Adam & welcome aboard, if you need any help just ask, we are in Bollington Cheshire so only down the road if you need help or advice on photo gear.
Andy

Hi Lesley , some wet streets shot with the camera would be great, but like with anything new, you want to wrap it all up and not let a spec of rain touch it lol - I have a rain sleeve that I DIY'd, but getting the confidence for pointing at strangers first with iPhone :)

Beth, Brian & Dave - thank you, I shall upload some pics when I can next, probably tomorrow night, if not some point Friday - but do be aware, I don't use photoshop, so they are mostly all sat in an unprocessed state (I have done the dreaded with some photos though - transfer to iPhone and edit on snapseed, what a great way to kill some resolution lol)

Hi Darren, see I'm the other way around, I'm originally from South Wales, not far from Swansea, but moved up here for uni 3 years ago. I don't live central though, I'm actually not too far from Oldham, I'm near to where that gas blast was recently.

Thank you everyone

If anyone has Instagram (though I bet you lot have a hate to such apps), I'm on there with the iPhone pictures, my username there is Alew01 .
But I shall upload some here anyway :)

We aren't snobs about Instagram here ... It's all part of what makes photography what it is!!

I literally just uploaded a Starbucks shot of two people arguing.
Is it possible to upload images to this forum direct from iPhone?

Welcome to RPF Adam - sounds like you'll fit right in, looking forward to seeing some pics and talking photography.
