I have series of these as the train moves towards the camera point

suggestions welcome on the ideal position?

I'd put the front of the train just right of centre.

I think I'd put the front of the train just at where the curve starts.

firstly - love the angle and comp on the shot! (Also the PP)

RE position - depends whether you want the train to appear to be coming or going?

Where it is, I perceive it as heading away, into the city - my eye tracks left to right and sees it last, so the feeling (for me) is that it's heading away from me

If you move it up the curve, you may get a feeling of it coming towards you

I think I would have liked the train to be a little more prominent in the picture, maybe moved a little more to the left / middle. But it is a very well done one all the same.

I agree with Ivar. I don't think the train is prominent enough to make any difference but it is nice that it is visible. Train or no train I think this is a very good capture; it's got a nice tension to it and the colouring works very well.
